Endemic to Indonesia, The Knobbed Hornbill (Rhyticeros cassidix) has a large, knob-like casque on top of its bill, which is reddish-orange in males and yellow in females. Also known as the Sulawesi Hornbill, it is found in evergreen forest only on the island of Sulawesi and nearby smaller islands in Indonesia – and is the symbol of South Sulawesi province. Its diet consists mainly of fruits, but it will also take insects and small vertebrates.
