The willow emerald damselfly (Chalcolestes viridis) – also known as the western willow spreadwing – has a metallic green body and very narrow antehumeral stripes on the thorax. The pterostigma is pale brown and outlined in black. Found across southern and central Europe, at rest it holds its wings away from its body.
