The endangered Great Capricorn beetle (Cerambyx cerdo) is named for its distinctive, long, curved antennae which resemble the horns of a Capricorn, the mythical sea goat. A large European longhorn beetle known for its impressive size and wood-boring larvae, it has a body length up to 60mm, and males have antennae twice as long as their bodies.
