Despite their name, green iguanas (Iguana iguana) can come in different colours – ranging from green to lavender, black, and even pink. For example, Green iguanas from the western Costa Rica are orange / red. It is native to Central, South America, and the Caribbean. The largest lizard species in Central America, its long, whip-like tail accounts for more than half its total length. Yet it can sever it when a predator grabs hold of it.
