The lineated barbet (Psilopogon lineatus) has dark stripes on its head and chest hence the name “lineated” barbet – Lineata is the Latin word for “Marked with lines” derived from linea line. Bare patch of orange skin around the eye creates a monocled appearance. Similar to the Brown-headed Barbet, it is luminous green with a streaked grey-brown head and a flesh-pink bill.
