The golden-shouldered parrot (Psephotellus chrysopterygius ) is mainly blue with distinctive yellow shoulder feathers. Females are duller, primarily greenish-yellow, with a broad cream bar on their undersides. A rare bird on the southern Cape York Peninsula, in Queensland, Australia, it is also known as the alwal, arrmorral, minpin, thaku and mainly antbed parrot due to the fact that it nests in termite mounds, excavating tunnels during the wet season.
