The pearled treerunner (Margarornis squamiger) is named for the bold white spotting on its underparts. Quite common in cloud forest in the subtropical and temperate zones in the Andes from Venezuela to Bolivia, it hunts for insects by moving along branches and up stems. It is found in Argentina, Bolivia, Colombia, Ecuador, Peru, and Venezuela. Treerunners are several species of bird in the ovenbird family Furnariidae.
