The endemic Ethiopian Bee-eater (Merops lafresnayiia) is a large, colourful bee-eater with a blue forehead that inhabits forest edges and moist woodlands of the Ethiopian highlands. It is a close relative of the blue-breasted bee eater, but is only found in Ethiopia. It can be distinguished by its blue front and supercillium – and its collar may be entirely blue.
