Endemic to north-east Africa, the moorland chat (Pinarochroa sordida), also known as the alpine chat or hill chat, is a little bird that prefers to live at high elevations, hence its alternate common names. It has a short tail and long legs. The moorland chat is very bold, commonly approaching people, and even landing on or near them.
