The Palawan peacock-pheasant (Polyplectron napoleonis) is endemic to the island of Palawan in the Philippines and has striking iridescent blue and green feathers with eye-like markings, similar to those of a peacock. The scientific name, Polyplectron napoleonis, was given in honour of French Emperor Napoleon Bonaparte, although the exact reason for this association is unclear. It inhabits the humid, dense forests of Palawan Island in the Philippines, specifically favouring lowland and coastal regions with thick undergrowth.
