The Keel-billed toucans (Ramphastos sulfuratus) have distinctive oversized, multi-coloured bills for which they were named. They are also known as Sulfur-breasted Toucans or Rainbow-billed Toucans – because of its colourful bill. The toucan's beak appears quite heavy, but is actually light as it's bill is hollow, and made out of the extremely light but strong keratin, which is also the substance that makes up human hair and fingernails. Found in Central and South America, it is the national bird of Belize.
