The Tropical Mockingbird (Mimus gilvus) is the neotropical counterpart to the Northern Mockingbird (Mimus polyglottus) – the Tropical Mockingbird has less white in the wings, lacking the white primary coverts and white bases to the primaries of Northern Mockingbird. it has a grey head and upperparts. Wings are blackish with two conspicuous white wing bars, and white edges on flight feathers. It breeds from southern Mexico south to northern Brazil.
