The Sulawesi Ground doves (Gallicolumba tristigmata), also known as Yellow-breasted Ground-doves, used to be called Celebes. Their native Indonesian island changed its name to Sulawesi, so the bird’s name changed as well. An Indonesian endemic, this elusive species is distributed to primary rainforests of Sulawesi in Wallacea. It is olive brown with a golden forehead, yellow breast, red legs, iridescence bluish-green crown ended with purple patch behind ear coverts. Both sexes have similar plumage, though female colours are slightly duller. Sulawesi Ground Doves require sunlight to produce certain vitamins.
