The Amazonian Blue-throated Piping-guan (Pipile cumanensis) is an arboreal South American bird known for its striking white crest and blue throat, which gives it a distinctive, somewhat "prehistoric" appearance. It is tree-dwelling, foraging for palm fruits, figs, and flowers in the forest canopy, found from the Guianas and Venezuela to northern and western Amazonia, including parts of Colombia, Ecuador, Peru, Bolivia, and Brazil.
