The yellow-billed kite (Milvus aegyptius) is recognised by its entirely yellow bill. An opportunistic bird, it is often seen in urban areas or where humans are – It is not uncommon for yellow-billed kites to swoop down and steal food from under the nose of humans. There are two subspecies: Milvus aegyptius parasitus, found throughout most of sub-Saharan Africa and Milvus aegyptius aegyptius of Egypt, south-west Arabia and the Horn of Africa.
