A striking rainforest bird native to eastern Australia, the elusive white-headed pigeon (Columba leucomela) gets its common name from the striking, bright white plumage that covers its head, neck, and breast. Males feature a bright, clean white head and neck with a metallic green/purple sheen on their back, females have mottled or smudged grey areas on their white feathers. Juveniles are entirely grey.
