The silverbird (Empidornis semipartitus) is silvery grey above – hence its name – and tawny orange below. It is native to East Africa, from Sudan to Tanzania. A stunning fly-catcher the silver bird feeds on small insects like spiders and caterpillars as well as grains and seeds.
