The blue-eyed darner dragonfly (Rhionaeschna multicolor) is a common dragonfly of the family Aeshnidae; native to the lakes, ponds, marshes, and slow streams with edge vegetation, as well as acid bogs of the western United States. Darners have 360 degree vision, move straight up and down and can move backwards, and can reach a speed of 50 mph (80 kph).
