The Bahama pintail (Anas bahamensis), also known as the white-cheeked pintail or summer duck, is a species of dabbling duck named because there is a significant population in the Bahamas – though it is a native of the Caribbean Islands, South America, and the Galapagos Islands. Both sexes have a bright white cheek patch giving the duck its alternative name the white cheeked pintail. There are several colour mutations of the Bahama Pintail – these include the Silver Bahama Pintail, blonde Bahama Pintail and the blue Bahama Pintail. Male and female Silver Bahama Pintails look very much alike.
