Gonocerus acuteangulatus is commonly known as the box bug in the UK as it once only occurred in Box Hill in Surrey where it fed on box trees. This heat-loving bug inhabits mainly dry and warm, south-exposed environments throughout the Mediterranean region and extends to Central Asia and parts of northwestern Europe. Stink bugs and boxelder bugs are two common pests that commonly cause problems when they enter homes during the colder seasons in search of warmth & shelter. While these two types of bugs are totally different species, they are sometimes confused for each other because of their somewhat similar appearance and behavior.
