Summer tanager (Piranga rubra) males are a solid rose-red with a pale bill. Females have a pale olive green above, dull yellow below. The Summer Tanager's scientific name basically translates to mean "a small red bird". The female is usually brownish or orange-yellow. The bird eats bees and wasps on both the breeding and wintering areas.
