The yellow-crowned woodpecker (Leiopicus mahrattensis) is also known as the Yellow-fronted Woodpecker, Mahratta Woodpecker, and Mahratta Pied Woodpecker. It is found in the Indian subcontinent and southern Asia. The male has a yellow fore-crown and a red nape – the female has a yellowish crown and nape.
