The burrowing parrot (Cyanoliseus patagonus), also known as the Patagonian conure, excavate burrows in cliffs and riverbanks for nesting and roosting. These burrows can be quite extensive, reaching up to 3 meters (9.8 feet) deep. Most of its feathers are golden-green but it has a distinctive yellow front and underparts as well as displaying a bright red/orange patch of feathers at the top of its legs. Found in Chile and Argentina, the burrowing parrot lives in very large groups and nest closely to one another.
