The grey treepie (Dendrocitta formosae), also known as the Himalayan treepie, is grey-brown with a long, strongly graduated tail. It is mostly found in mountain rainforests, also using forests at lower altitudes. Widely distributed along the foothills of the Himalayas in the Indian Subcontinent and extending into Indochina, southern mainland China and Taiwan, it feeds on invertebrates, their larvae, lizards, small birds, eggs and nestlings. It also takes fruits and seeds and nectar from flowering trees.
