The red-billed starling (Sturnus sericeus), also known as the Silky Starling, is found in Asia in China, Hong Kong, Japan, South Korea, the Philippines, Taiwan and Vietnam. Red-billed Starlings nest in holes in trees and in the roofs of houses. The species is distinctive in all plumages, looking more heavily-built than White-cheeked Starling (Sturnus cineraceus), with an overall paler grey plumage, a white patch on the primary coverts and primary bases, and either a yellowy (juvenile) or bright red bill, with reddish legs.
