The House Wren (Troglodytes aedon) is found in North America, Canada, to southernmost South America. Colours range from from dull greyish-brown to rich rufescent-brown on the body. This bird's rich bubbly song is commonly heard during the nesting season but rarely afterwards. House Wrens are fiercely territorial, they have been known to destroy bluebird and other cavity nester's eggs by piercing them, and then often removing the eggs from the nest.
