The spotted dove (Spilopelia chinensis) has a black patch with white spots at the back of its neck. It is native to India and eastern Asia, but can also be found in California, Hawaii, and was introduced into Australia in the mid-1800s and early 1900s and quickly became established. It is also known as the Spotted Turtle Dove.
