The industrious rock wren (Salpinctes obsoletus) hops around rocks, probing for insects and spiders with its delicate bills. A small songbird of the wren family native to western North America, Mexico and Central America. The Rock Wren can thrive in bleak desert settings occupied by few other birds – it is not known to drink water but instead gets all it needs from its food. Its nest is usually located in a rock crevice out of sight.
