The Tanzanian red-billed hornbill (Tockus ruahae) is only found in the Ruaha National Park, Tanzania, where it prefers savanna and semi-arid woodland, mainly in areas with baobab trees (Adansonia). It has the distinctive black patch around the yellow eye, which distinguishes it from the red-billed hornbill. Females are smaller and have only a small dark patch on the lower mandible. Juveniles are similar to males but have a shorter and pale orange bill.
