The black guan (Chamaepetes unicolor) is a turkey-shaped bird which inhabits the canopy of the forest, as opposed to being terrestrial. Part of the Cracidae family, it is found in Costa Rica and Panama. The body is all black, with blue bare skin around a red eye and red legs, hence it can be can be very difficult to see in the forest.
