The jungle crow (Corvus macrorhynchos) is a large, black, fearsome-looking bird with a wingspan of up to 104 cm and a body length of 50 cm. It has a large bill which is the source of its scientific name macrorhynchos (Ancient Greek for large beak), and it is sometimes known by the common names large-billed crow or thick-billed crow. Found across the Indian Subcontinent south of the Himalayas, there are 11 sub-species including the Indian jungle crow (Corvus culminatus).
